A new twist for our Porter Flea: Holiday market is the introduction of an Emerging Artists booth! Our jury selected two inspiring up and coming young artists to learn the ropes of handmade markets. Welcome 12 year old Maya of TwelveStitches and 16 year old Jamie of Jamie's: Handmade Jewelry & Accessories! Check out Maya's floral monkey plushie and Jamie's pink dahlia earrings! Welcome ladies!
The lovely Sarah, owner of The Bang Candy Company, will be loading up her Hot Chocolate Truck and driving 400 yards down to Porter Flea: Holiday 2012! There is simply no better way to shop than while sipping on a Bang Candy hot chocolate treat! Oh and did we mention she makes the BEST marshmallows we have ever had. Yeah that too! Her cafe will also be in full gear the day of the Flea and loaded with great menu items! We can't wait!

Surprise! We are hosting Saturday Afternoon Sprints with Music City Cycling at Porter Flea Holiday! Head to head sprints on bicycles mounted on rollers. Fastest 300meters wins. Preliminaries are done at signups to be placed in the tournament bracket. Dalman Supply Co will be providing a rad prize for the top winners in the male and female brackets! Meet Shelby: Porter Flea: Holiday 2012's rad graphic designer! Shelby did our Holiday 2012 graphics. Check her work out here. Shelby took the time to let us in on some of her inspirations and musings. "I am inspired by artists like Margaret Kilgallen and Howard Finster, who embrace the evidence of the human hand in their work. Art that merges typography and imagery has always held a special place in my heart, which is probably why I got into letterpress, printmaking and design. In the future, I would like to go on adventures with my watercolor sketchbook, then settle down somewhere and open a small print shop. And hopefully at that point, Porter Flea will still be going strong so that I can hustle my prints alongside Nashville's finest." Thank you Shelby for your amazing work!
