Scout’s Barbershop’s mission is to provide a space where people come together – not only to get their hair done, but to hang out and meet their neighbors. While you’re there, you might even Scout out a new style or make a new acquaintance that brings inspiration to your craft, your music or other creative interest!
Find a fresh Porter Flea style when you visit Scouts Braid + Beard Bar. Choose the perfect winter braid or let us help you groom your cold weather beard.

What Nashvillian inspires you the most? Luke Dick is one of my favorite Nashvillians … his creativity and talent are at that level where my mind is just blown – from his song-writing to his autobiographical film-producing of his crazy-interesting life story to his own music – Republican Hair. It’s all just awesome. He was a philosophy professor in his past career, and is married to a brilliant neurosurgeon with whom he’s raising two babies and a truly lovely teenage daughter. He manages all of this and is still one of the friendliest, most sincere people I’ve ever met!
What is your favorite thing to do in Nashville? Impossible to choose just one, so I’ll describe one day – run at Shelby Bottoms Greenway with friends, eat breakfast at The Post, walk to 5 Points and scope some local shops, day drink at Dino’s and eat fries, end up on someone’s porch or backyard for a fire and music and more food and drinks!
What is your favorite holiday tradition/memory? Walking around the little town of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, situated right on a huge northwest lake with evergreens and snow and frozen ice. The town is an old silver mining town with brick buildings now filled with coffee shops, thrift shops and outdoorsy gear shops.
What has surprised you the most about owning/running a business in Nashville? Hmmm…. I guess I could say how quickly things have grown and changed here but I also kind of expected that and was motivated to open a business because of that reason. Even so, it still astounds me, just about every day, the amount of growth I’ve seen and been through over the last 5 years.
What is your favorite holiday movie? Meet Me in St. Louis
